Exhibition Ideas

I'd love to see more interactivity at the 2010 exhibition - things to pick up and use, interact with, try out. Does anyone have any ideas for things like this?

Here are my ideas:
  1. Augmented Reality - see examples
  2. Kaleidocycles
  3. Books
  4. T-shirts
  5. Masks
  6. Jigsaw puzzles
  7. Video games
  8. Touchscreens (anyone know if we can hire these?)

  1. I think that things like tactile sketchbooks are a good idea.
People like touching things, especially kids.
Maybe tactile posters would be good, like a display of showing textures as a poster, then showing what can be done with the textures when they are scanned in.
That might show a bit of a background to how things are made.

  2. Great ideas / theme for exhibition - I like it!!

    another possible suggestion:
Typography sculpture (strong lighting / shadows) - freestanding letters that can be moved to create different words etc

  3. One of the photography students is maybe investigating home cinema (Super 8mm) from the 60's and 70's for their graded unit. We're looking at project ideas for this, and maybe some kind of installation at the exhibition might be suitable - like a mini cinema with only a few seats, projector, usher with flashlight and ice cream at the break!
